Author: Edip Kilinc, founder of Webwavers. Last updated: October 31, 2026.

You send your application by email to hello@webwavers.de, with your CV and work samples. We review it, usually invite you to an interview and decide afterward. You mostly have the interview directly with Edip Kilinc, the founder. You need a portfolio for design, branding and Webflow roles. For project management, examples from projects you have managed count.

The process in four to five steps

SchrittWas passiertWas du tun musst
1. BewerbungDu schickst uns deine Unterlagen per E-MailLebenslauf, Portfolio oder Projektlinks, Gehaltsvorstellung, frühester Starttermin
5. ZusageWir melden uns mit unserer EntscheidungRückmeldung geben

Typically it goes like this: application, interview (on site or by video) and then a joint decision. Review and the team meeting are the in-between steps that get added depending on the role. The process can differ slightly depending on the role. We don't state fixed deadlines or mandatory assignments here, because they depend on the role and the situation. If something special is coming up on your side, for example a notice period, just mention it in your email.

Step 1: The application

Send your application to hello@webwavers.de. That's enough. There is no form where you type everything in twice.

What belongs in the email:

  • Your CV
  • Your portfolio or links to projects you are proud of
  • Your salary expectations as a gross annual figure
  • Your earliest possible start date

A cover letter in the classic sense isn't necessary. Two or three sentences on why you see yourself with us are plenty. For the Digital Project Manager position, we also ask for a few sentences about projects you have managed.

Do you need a portfolio?

It depends on the role:

  • Web Designer: Yes. A portfolio with web design or branding projects is part of the application. We want to see how you handle typography, space and details, and whether you work confidently in Figma.
  • Webflow Developer: Yes, in the form of links to Webflow projects you built yourself. A GitHub profile is optional.
  • Digital Project Manager: No design portfolio. Instead, a few sentences about projects you have managed.
  • Design and Branding Internship: Show us what you have, even if it's university projects.

A portfolio doesn't have to be huge. Three to five well-explained projects tell us more than twenty screenshots without context. Briefly explain what your role was and why you solved things the way you did.

The specific requirements for each position are on the Web Designer, Webflow Developer and Digital Project Manager pages.

Steps 2 and 3: Review and interview

We look at your documents and get back to you. The interview is about you, your projects and what you would do with us. Edip Kilinc usually conducts the interviews himself. That means you talk from the start with the person who founded Webwavers in 2021 and who makes the decisions.

We agree on the format, meaning on site or by video, with you. There is no blanket rule.

Useful preparation:

  1. Look at two or three of our reference projects and think about what you like about them or what you would do differently.
  2. Think about which project in your portfolio best shows what you can do.
  3. Write down your questions. Salary, remote work, responsibilities, anything goes.

Step 4: Team meeting

Depending on the role, you also meet colleagues before a decision is made. That matters as much to you as it does to us. You see how we work, and we see whether you fit together well. More about day-to-day work is on the Working at Webwavers page.

Step 5: Offer

If everything fits, you get an offer from us. By then we will already have talked about salary and conditions. You can find an overview of the benefits under Salary and Benefits.

Open applications

Yes, you can send an open application. The careers page has its own route for this. Send us the same documents as for a regular application and tell us which role you see yourself in. That also applies to areas like UX/UI design or motion design.

To be honest: an open application doesn't mean we have a position for you right away. But we do read it, and if role and timing fit, we get in touch. Open positions are listed on the careers page. We can't predict when we will advertise new ones.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a portfolio to apply at Webwavers?

For web design, branding and Webflow roles, yes: a portfolio or links to projects you built yourself. For project management, you write a few sentences about projects you have managed instead.

What does the interview at Webwavers look like?

As a rule, you have the first interview directly with Edip Kilinc. You talk about your projects, your expectations and the role. Depending on the role, a team meeting follows.

Is the first interview on site or by video?

We agree on that with you. There is no fixed rule.

Does Webwavers really consider open applications?

Yes, we read them. But an open application doesn't mean a suitable position is open right away. If role and timing fit, we get in touch.

Can I send an open application for motion design or UX/UI design?

Yes. Send your documents to hello@webwavers.de and tell us which area you would like to work in.

When will Webwavers hire again?

That can't be predicted reliably. Open positions are listed on the careers page, and if you're interested, an open application helps.
